Here's the scoop...

Last week I was in Richmond, Va and I had the chance to see a band that knocked my socks off! They played at a local restaurant called Awful Arthurs and it was an experience that I had to tell you about.........COBBLESTONES!

Cobblestones started in May of 2000. Leslie (lead vocals), Ryan (Guitar)and Marc (Bass) were previously members of a 5 piece band called Bittermuse. After an abrupt and painful breakup, the three branched off and picked up Brian (drums) for what would become Cobblestones.

Leslie has been singing since the age 8. At age 15 she started singing the National Anthem at local rodeos and then moving to more formal venues such as High School Jazz and Show Chior. Her broadway, jazz and classical background has proved to make her life as a singer much easier. Leslie
laughs, "I used to stand in front of the mirror and sing into my mother's curling iron as a child.... pretending I was in front of thousands of people! Performing is a passion of mine that goes way back, and I'd be lost in this world without it." Leslie's ability to captivate her audience with her soulful voice and large vocal range is what keeps audiences come back for more!

Ryan is, hands down, one of the best guitarist around! His blues riffs take you back to the basics and his fingerwork will amaze the eyes. Ryan told us, "I just want to play Rock 'N Roll", and that, my friends, is exactly what he he does!

Mark and Brian make up the rhythm section of Cobblestones. They are an unstoppable team with funk and latin influences.

In short, Cobblestones is a must see band out of Richmond, VA. They play Coupe Deville's on Saturday, August 26th at 10pm, so if your in the area...... check them out. I had the pleasure of meeting the entire band and all I can say that not only have I had the chance to write about a great band, I have made a new group of friends. Their shows are tasteful with twist of the old school rock of the eighties and the new age pop of the millenium. The lyrics are written about real life things that will relate to everyone in some way. In closing, Cobblestones has my vote to make
it big sometime real soon. They are on the way, so if you can, check them out while the price is cheap because I guarentee it will not be the case forever!
